Saving an Image
AOL users, here's how to save an image.
(Non AOL users can just right click on the image, choose "save image as" and choose the destination)

The best thing to do is to turn off the graphics compression.
Here's a page and another page describing the problems with AOL and compressed graphics. If you choose to leave it as is, then below is how to save an image.

1) Put your cursor over the image, click the mouse using the right button. Scroll down to "save picture as" then left click on it. It will bring up a box that asks where you want to save the file to. Mine always has the default destination of "download".

2) I change it to "my documents" using the arrow next to the destination name. After you choose your destination, see what kind of file it is (most of them will be "ART"). The animations will be "GIF" (you don't have to change these)

3) If it comes up as "ART", change the "ART" to "BMP" my pressing the arrow that's right next to it.

4) Then click save

If you are going to use it on your home page, you'll have to pull the image up (locate the file and left double click on it). Your browser will display the image. There will be a "file" button at the top left corner of the screen. Left click on it and scroll down to "save as". It will bring the little box up again. This time change the "BMP" to "GIF" or "JPEG (jpg)" (GIF is a clearer image with some color change). (Leaving it as "BMP" will make your page load slower). Then save it again

I hope this will help you save them correctly. If you have trouble you can e-mail me at dawn@freereindesigns.com
